FIRST STAGE OF THE JOINT CALL

The call was actually successful and the number of submitted Pre-proposals was 352.
Considering the 3 topics given by the Call, and the possibility of applicants to develop more than one issue, submissions were diversely distributed as per their first choice. Topic 1 (Safeguarding tangible cultural heritage and its associated intangible expressions) resulted as the most popular with 47% of Pre-proposals. At the second place, submissions addressed mainly to topic 2 (Sustainable strategies for protecting and managing cultural heritage) with 32% of Pre-proposals and finally, applicants developed topic 3 (Use and re-use of all kinds of cultural heritage) which represents 21% of total.

The number of the proposals admitted to the second step was 61.

 

SECOND STAGE OF THE JOINT CALL

Eligible research teams were asked to re-present their proposals, by providing more information, details, and delve deeper into the sections required (Description of Work, management structure, budget…) and the relationships among the parts. As for the topic of the proposals, the situation changed from the first stage. The most addressed topic was the second one (Sustainable strategies for protecting and managing cultural heritage) with 44% of the full proposals, followed by topic 1 (Safeguarding tangible cultural heritage and its associated intangible expressions) with 29% and topic 3 (Use and re-use of all kinds of cultural heritage) with 27 %.

Countries with the highest number of participations and coordinators are Italy, followed by United Kingdom, Spain, France, Netherlands and Portugal.

72% of total were universities, 16% research institutes, 5% museums, 3% SME and the remaining 4% other subjects.
